Opening

The opening to your virtual Mini-THON is a great place to share the Four Diamonds story and ask the community to make donations  to your event.  Hosting your opening on a DonorDrive participant page via a Zoom livestream through YouTube will allow your entire community to see it live while also giving them the opportunity to support your fundraising efforts.

During your opening be sure to ask for donations, encourage your participants to continue sharing their fundraising page links with family and friends and thank people for the donations as they are being made during your opening remarks.

Share a Four Diamonds video or talk about the impact that Four Diamonds is making to conquer childhood cancer.  This builds awareness and compels individuals to support your event.  If you have a Four Diamonds family within your school district, invite them to share their story.  If you don’t, visit Four Diamonds’ YouTube channel to pick from several of our family story videos.

Wrap up the opening by explaining how the event is going to flow for all the participants and let people know what time they should tune in to see the closing total reveal.  Share this on social media as well.

Closing

Your closing should be a celebration of all of the hard work that your Mini-THON leadership team and participants put in throughout the year in pursuit of a cure for childhood cancer.

With permission from your participants, recognize the overall top fundraisers, top teams and top fundraisers by grade.  Thank your corporate sponsors, your advisor(s), your school administrators, your community and, most importantly, your leadership team.

Share images from past Mini-THON events and include a special note about the impact that the senior class had on Mini-THON at your school.

Share the overall total raised by your event and soak in the excitement of the impact you made to Four Diamonds.
