Kindness

Self -compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves that we would give to others.
-Christopher Germer
I have a painted stone that a friend gave to me that says "Kindness Begins With Me". It sits on my counter as a reminder that I have a choice to be kind every day, to everyone, including myself.

Kindness is never to be misconstrued for weakness. The strong person is able to be kind to others while pursuing what they are trying to accomplish, reinforcing trust and good will. And a strong person will recognize the importance of being kind to themselves, too. I struggle at times to be kind to myself, to offer myself compassion for my mistakes, even knowing that mistakes are an inevitable part of living fully. I’ve learned that being kind to myself can help me to put those mistakes into perspective and move on to a happier state of being.
Why? How? Science has proven that engaging in random acts of kindness improves your happiness level. Want to be immediately happier? Offer a random act of kindness to someone! Volunteering to help others – just like you’re doing as a volunteer to help Four Diamonds children and families – is a beautiful act of kindness. Your kind actions have a tremendously positive ripple effect in our lives, our homes, and our community.
What are a few random acts of kindness you can do right now? What random acts of kindness can you encourage others to do that can benefit your fundraising and volunteer efforts for Four Diamonds?
Feel free to discuss below.
