We Give Thanks For You!

Published

Thanksgiving has a complex history with a controversial narrative, but one thing that is not complex is the positive message of gratitude!  Four Diamonds has much to be thankful for - starting with you!

Thanksgiving is about gratitude and gratefulness.  It emphasizes gratitude of the simple things - creation of life, abundance of food, and good health.  It also recognizes the human need to commune with nature and loved ones.  Regardless of your family's ideas on safety measures this year, those things can be honored from near or afar.

We all have so much to be thankful for and this year, it is possibly even more appreciated!  As the world has seen such suffering, you've remained steadfast and resilient.  Every single person has experienced loss this year.  Some lost more than others.  Most of us lost experiences, some lost jobs and some lost the most- life or loved ones.

What's amazing to us is how you all exemplify the true meaning of the holiday every day.  Thanksgiving originates from the Native American philosophy of giving without expecting anything in return.  And you do this so passionately every day, every month, every year!  Despite the cost this year has taken on each of you, you continue to put the lives and health of children fighting cancer at the forefront.  You have not left their sides and for that- thank you will never be enough!

We extend our deepest gratitude and hopes for a peaceful holiday filled with all the important things.  Enjoy nature, connect with a loved one, open a book, binge watch a show, or eat that second piece of pumpkin roll.  Do something that makes you happy.  Isabelle's family says "go ahead, you deserve it".  😊

In 2016, Isabelle received her first chemotherapy treatment on Thanksgiving Day. Her family spent the next two Thanksgiving holidays isolated at home because Isabelle was too sick to be with the whole family. Her mom, Beth, says they have so much to be thankful for.

Beth says, “We are thankful and grateful for the commitment of Four Diamonds and their continued research to conquer childhood cancer and support the families who are fighting now. Four Diamonds helped give us our lives back. For that, we will forever be thankful.”
